PROPPER DONATES TO JOPLIN RELIEF EFFORT - June, 2011
On May 22, 2011, a tornado reaching 200 mph tore through the center of Joplin, MO. Although the tornado lasted for only a few minutes, it caused billions of dollars in damages and claimed the lives of over 150 people. Hundreds more lost their homes and possessions.
In early June, PROPPER INTERNATIONAL™ donated 900 pairs of Genuine Gear duty pants and tactical pants to Southern Uniform & Equipment in Carthage, MO. PROPPER employees Chrissy and Ann visited Southern Uniform & Equipment to distribute the donation to the Joplin, MO relief effort. The donation went to nine local public safety agencies:
Joplin Police Department
- Joplin Fire Department
- Jasper County Sheriff Office
- Newton County Sheriff Office
- Carterville Police Department
- Carterville Fire Department
- Oronogo Police Department
- Oronogo Fire Department
- Duquesne Police Department
We hope this small contribution will help local law enforcement agencies as they continue to protect and serve the people of Joplin.
PAWS & EFFECT - February, 2011
Paws & Effect, a Des Moines-based non-profit organization that raises and trains service dogs for Iowa combat veterans, recently announced a new litter of four service-dogs-in-training. These puppies will be raised by local volunteers for up to 18 months, then professionally trained and placed with veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or mobility impairments.
To celebrate this event and support such a noble organization, PROPPER donated a bolt of MultiCam® Battle Rip® fabric to be used as service-dog uniforms. The fabric choice was fitting, as the Iowa National Guard’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry “Red Bull” Division, was one of the first U.S. Army units to be issued the MultiCam® pattern.
“As a company rooted in military heritage, we fully support Paws & Effect in their mission to provide services to Iowa veterans,” says Megan Henderson, marketing manager for PROPPER INTERNATIONAL™. “We look forward to watching these puppies grow in the months to come, and to welcoming our troops home.”
