Rated 5 out of 5 by Ken J from Great boots I bought my pair from Amazon about a little less than one month ago and they are holding up to normal conditions very well. They fit right out of the box and I did not need the inserts. The side zipper is strong and makes it easy to put the boots on. I later bought the 6" version as well so it would look better with shorts. I definitely recommend these boots and will buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Raidrsj from Stellar boots I got these boots a few weeks ago for my job as a police officer. I have to say they are very soft and comfortable. They even came with a free set of extra insoles. I have been on my feet a lot and my feet have not hurt at all. I love that they are waterproof and the zippers are ultra smooth going up and down. Thank you Propper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kelpman from Great comfortable boots! These Propper boots are really nice. I used to wear another brand X boot without side zippers and they were always a pain to put on and take off. These are all day, on the range, off the range, slogging in the rain comfortable boots. I have trudged through some pretty deep puddles and my feet stayed surprisingly dry. They look great and feel even better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Namenick from Great experience These boots have seen heavy, almost daily use in all outside conditions for almost 2 and a half years now and they have held up great. Theres some wear on the outside edges of the leather and some wear with a couple minor tears on one boots waterproof liner but the damage is almost entirely minor and cosmetic. The insoles it came with needed to be replaced around 2 months ago and were almost entirely worn down at that point. New ones fit in with no issues whatsoever. I have not experienced any issues with its waterproofing. I have worn these boots almost completely submerged in water, snow, mud, and anything else you could think of and have escaped with a dry foot and sock every time. All in all i have had a great experience with these boots. They still hold a great shine and look and function great. Looking over the other reviews though it might be possible that they have a bad problem with quality control on the boots they send out. I have not experienced any of the issues stated by others.I have included photos of the wear and tear im describing, as well as the look from the front as well. The laces it came with have also held up just fine. I did not clean them up or anything for these photos, although i do clean them occasionally or when they get covered in things like mud.I know, long review. In short, yes i recommend them. No issues, 9/10 boots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by wolkigmadchen from I wish I could leave a better review :( I got a pair of these boots about two months ago. I have loved them and worn them every day since, however, they are wearing out way faster than I would expect of boots made to withstand more than normal wear and tear since I haven't been doing much more than walking around in them. Although the waterproofing has held up, they are fraying at the seems and I'm not sure how much longer they're going to hold together. The Velcro has almost completely separated from the tabs at the top of the zippers. The right one also fits slightly differently than the left even though they're the same size. I thought it was something that would even out with time, but that doesn't seem to be happening and even though I thought these were the most comfortable boots in the world when I first got them, my right heel and Achilles tendon have started causing me pain only while walking in these boots without any previous injury or condition. It's a shame because I really did like these boots and wish I could say I would get another pair, but after this experience I don't think I will get Propper boots whenever i can afford boots again. I just hope these don't fall apart before then.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jake12 from Comfortable but NOT waterproof. Three months ago I bought these for the beginning of hunting season. While they fit well and hold the ankle great...they are not waterproof. Ive tested it and a puddle 3 inches deep for more then a single step will cause wet feet. Also...they don't dry out well because they dont breath from what waterproofing their is. Doh.

Can this boot clear metal detectors?
While TSA currently requires all passenger not going the Pre-Check to remove their shoes during screening, this boot does not have any major metal pieces that would likely set off any metal detectors.

With reviews from two different NTOA members, the Propper® Series 100 6" Side Zip Boot received their seal of approval garnering an overall score of 4.22 out of a possible 5 with its design, performance and durability praised across the board.
The Propper Series 100 Boots were found to be a very good quality boot. The boots are very lightweight and well-constructed. The outsole is oil and slip resistant. The zippered side made the boot very easy to get on and off. Some positive features of the Series 100 Boots are: made of a “polishable” cattle hide leather with 1000D nylon upper; an antimicrobial lining inhibits odor, promotes breathability and increases wear; the open cell air mesh foam keeps air circulating around foot for continual comfort; the washable open cell foam inserts conform to foot for balance and arch support; there is a fast-rope compatible arch that is built to handle ladders and fast-roping; a side zipper with hook-and-loop zipper guard offers convenient on/off and the coated speed lace hardware with 550 paracord lacing adds durability. My only complaint of the boots is they were lacking in the area of comfort since they were a little narrow in the toe area. A larger size or wide boot would have resolved this issue with a more custom fit. Having never owned a pair of Propper brand boots, I would consider purchasing a pair after this review.
I received a pair of Propper International Series 100 Men's Boots for evaluation. My initial thought was the boots were of superior quality. The side zipper is heavy duty, unlike other side zipper boots I have purchased. It took quite a long time for the boots to break in for me, even with wearing them every duty day and during SWAT training. I am not pleased with the side zipper. After 45 days of a breaking-in period, I have found that when the laces are tied and you un-zip the boot, I am still not able to pull the boots off without un-doing or loosening the laces. Maybe this will come with more breaking in time. Comfort of the boots is a big plus. They are light and I personally like the ankle support. Walking or running with these boots support your ankles and the soles cushion the bottom of your feet. I usually get a blister when breaking in new boots but had no soreness during the breaking in period with these. The tread gives great traction in all terrain and is large enough so small rocks and other debris will not lodge inside the tread. The boots are easy to clean. The leather and stitching is very high quality. I rated the boots lower in Ease of Use and Convenience simply because of the side zipper not allowing me to remove the boot without untying the laces. Overall I like these boots: design (except for the side zipper) comfort and ankle support are all positives.
