Rated 5 out of 5 by GotU6 from Colorado_Tactical I have been wearing the Propper lightweight tactical pants for over 10 years now and when I saw this new design I thought I would give them a try. The price point was still under what I an willing to pay so that was a plus. The fit and look is even better that expected. These are now my go-to for all purpose use. Every feature is spot-on. I have already picked up a second pair and will continue to add to my color selection till I fill my quota. Thanks for all you do Propper!

What size are the kneepad pockets, what kneepads do you recommend?
The knee pad pocket is 9" long x 8" wide. As to which kneepads to choose, that is personal preference. We recommend trying out several and picking the ones you like the best.

Where do they sit ? On or below the waist ?
These pants are our Classic Fit, so the waist sits on the waistline in the men's version.

Besides the waist band does the fabric itself stretch or is it similar to regular ripstop fabric with no give?
The NEXStretch fabric is incorporated throughout the pants to allow for an extra bit of stretch.

How is the rise on these pants? I have a short rise and many pants do not fit right in that regard. Thanks for any input.
The Kinetic pants are cut to our Classic Fit, a bit more generous fit than an athletic fit, so there is a little more room in the hips and waist. The exact rise measurement depends on the size.

if you where a 33 do 32 inch waist adjust out or do you order 34 and adjust in?
The Kinetic pants have a slider waistband that adds an extra 3 inches to the waistline, so we recommend not sizing up.

With reviews from two different NTOA members, the Propper Kinetic Pants received their seal of approval garnering an overall score of 4.64 out of a possible 5 with its design, performance, and durability praised across the board.
The Propper Kinetic Pants were an exceptionally comfortable and practical surprise. Their highlights include an extremely comfortable and durable waistband, a buttoned waist closure, very versatile pocket configurations and maintaining a professional look that is as appropriate with a long-sleeved button up as it is with a plate kit. I was extremely surprised by how unassuming the pants wore and fit. These are not the obvious "that-guy" pants. Functionally speaking, these pants are lightweight enough to wear in the Southern heat and humidity and not absolutely cook. I put this particular pair through the paces to include sprints, base layer under turnout gear, F.R.I.E.S. and S.P.I.E. trial, open swim (excellent range of motion and no binding), a briar patch run (a little painful, but no frays or tears) and finally completed a FRAN (CrossFit routine; time withheld.) I really appreciate the obvious work Propper has put into this release and have already ordered two more pairs for myself.
My first impression of the pants upon receiving them was very positive. I really liked the color (charcoal) and they appeared to be very well constructed. I have not worn any pants made by Propper before so I was anxious to give these a try. Below is the positive and negative of what I found. Overall the design is very good. They are a good looking pant and I got a lot of compliments on their overall appearance. The quality appears to be there. Having previously never worn any pants made by Propper, I liked them. Although I would not consider them the best tactical pant I have worn. Sizing is accurate and they have a lot of room for movement. The stretch material is very comfortable and allows for good movement. The design and placement of the pockets is good. I do not like the internal dividers in the cargo pockets though; they are too small. The water repellant in the material works well. I wore them on the range on a couple of rainy days and managed to stay dry. My biggest complaint about the pants are the waistband; I do not like the gripper waistband. I found it to be somewhat uncomfortable. I have had the gripper style in other pants and have never been a big fan. The pants have an extra belt loop and based on the duty gear I was wearing, I had to skip at least one of the extra loops at times. I do like the badge/sunglasses tab on the front two belt loops. I also like the metal button waistband closure; I prefer this over a snap closure. Overall the pants are pretty decent. I wore them a lot over the month or so I tested them and washed them often. The color has remained consistent and the construction is very durable.
