Tactical polo shirts are ideal for security, law enforcement, and military personnel. They're also popular among outdoors enthusiasts who want something substantial and practical for long hours outside.
High-performance polo shirts tend to resist rips and pilling, have collar stays for a crisp appearance, and maintain their shape even after years of use. They also have a variety of useful features, like pen pockets, that professionals on the job can appreciate.
Propper has a variety of work polo shirts for men with different types of fabric and features. Here's a rundown of our categories so you can figure out which is best for you.
Propper I.C.E. (Integrated Cooling Effect) Performance polo shirt fabric keeps you cool and dry. In fact, it dries 125 percent faster than cotton, and significantly faster than typical polyester polo jersey materials.
They also come with useful features: mic loops on the shoulder, pen pockets on the sleeve, and an eyewear loop on the front. I.C.E. polos also have a cooling mesh gusset under the arm for extra mobility.
This is a step lighter than the I.C.E. tactical polo shirt, and the polyester fabric blend is more resistant to snagging and pilling.
EdgeTec shirts have flatlock seams, which means they are less obtrusive than traditional polo shirts – making for a more comfortable fit overall. They also come with pen pockets on the sleeve and an eyeglass loop under the front buttons. Breathable, odor-resistant fabric also keeps you cool on the job.
Propper's Uniform Cotton Polo shirts stand out because they are 100 percent combed cotton interlock, instead of the standard polyester. That’s especially important for fire personnel and first responders, who are often restricted against wearing synthetic fabrics while on duty.
A classic-fit polo like this gives a professional appearance, while being comfortable for long hours on the job. It also has mic clip slots on the shoulders and a pen pocket on the left sleeve.
This is 100 percent polyester pique, referencing a knitting technique that provides a professional appearance and a durable surface. It's also odor-resistant and fast-drying — overall, a good choice for personnel who might have to wear body armor on the job.
Just like you’d expect, this is the shirt to have in hot, humid weather. Our lightweight polyester blend shirt has ultralight, 100 percent polyester jersey fabric on the back and underarms to keep you extra cool. The front is an odor-resistant, lightweight polyester/spandex blend.
You’ll notice the fabric is also “UPF 30," which refers to its ability to block UV rays. The rating of "30" means it allows 3 percent (or approximately 1/30th) of UVA radiation to pass through. Clothing must have a UPF 30 rating or higher to get a seal of recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation.
