I received so many compliments when I wore the Summerweight Short Sleeve Polo by Propper. It was a light green color and was a nice light material. Although lightweight, the shirt was strong and durable. Additionally, I liked the design of the pen holder pockets on the sleeves. The sizing of the shirt fit true to my size. I could wear it with a white t-shirt underneath and without a shirt underneath and the sizing was just rights It was easy to put on and take off. Sometimes these types of shirts cause static when doing so and this material didn't. This polo was extremely comfortable. The polo required little to no maintenance. I would wash on cold and then hang dry and it didn't wrinkle. I also put it in the dryer a different time and that was fine too. The shirt was easy to store on a hanger or fold in a drawer. Propper makes great clothes. I would highly recommend this polo for someone in the hot weather, as it is a nice lightweight material.
I loved this shirt almost from the get-go. It is EXTREMELY lightweight-seriously, I cannot emphasize enough how light and airy this shirt is-and where I live (in the middle of a desert), you always have to take into consideration the weight of a material and how it comes together. I was actually a little nervous to wear this shirt, because initially, when I held it up to the light, it was totally see through. But I put it on over my lightest color sports bra and was unable to see any skin or underclothes through the shirt while it was being worn. It is crazy comfortable. One thing I would say toward the aspect of durability is that I would not recommend wearing this shirt under an outer vest carrier or around Velcro/hook-and-loop attachments. The hook-and-loop material WILL get caught on the mesh of the fabric, it will snag, and then the shirt will look less clean and professional. So for me, in law enforcement, I wouldn't wear this shirt during my day-to-day duties. However, it would be fantastic for professional conferences, classes, or to wear golfing on the weekend. If your daily attire doesn't call for wearing a ballistic vest, I wouldn't worry about this at all. The shirt is also super easy to clean, and doesn't seem to wrinkle. I washed it and left it in the dryer all day, and I couldn't see any wrinkles in it when I took it out. It also runs very true to size. Ladies, you don't have to worry about having to tuck this shirt in down to your knees. I also liked the height and spacing of the buttons-allows you to be casual without unbuttoning the shirt all the way down to your bra line. So all in all, I’m a big fan of this shirt.
I recently had the opportunity to test and evaluate Propper's Men's Summerweight Polo. Out of the bag, this polo seemed like any other polo I have worn. The material is lightweight and the back of the polo is a mesh design (can hardly tell). Per the Propper website, the Summer Weight is the perfect patrol polo for those hot shifts where you need maximum moisture wicking and breathability. The 2-way ventilation mesh helps maximize your temperature control. I live and work in Southern California and I get hot very easily. I'm currently working day shift patrol and this summer is going to be a hot one. The Summer Weight polo features a snag & pill resistant material. I put this through the test and rubbed a Velcro patch over and over on the polo (front and back) with no effect. For those who wear a polo under an outer vest for patrol know that over time the areas around the cummerbund gets worn out and looks terrible due to the Velcro. This design will eliminate that and I was very surprised. The polo also has collar stays, 3-button placket with a mic loop, pen pockets on the left sleeve and is Athletic fitted. I wore this polo a lot during this testing on duty and off. I wore it to a few trainings and the performance was great. I will be adding shoulder patches (might mess up the pen pockets) to this polo and start wearing it this summer on patrol. I highly recommend this polo and will be buying a few more. They offer various options and are not crazy expensive either.
I received the Propper's Summerweight Polo short sleeve shirt for evaluation. This shirt utilizes Propper's wicking technology that allows the user to stay dry. The shirt material is made up of 92% polyester / 8% spandex jersey for the front of the shirt and 100% polyester textured jersey for the back. The material also provides UPF 30 protections from UV rays. It also has built-in odor and moisture protection. The idea of this is to keep the shirt breathable by letting sweat out and cool air in. This shirt also features collar stays, 3-buttons and a built-in mic loop. They also provided you with a pen pocket on the left sleeve. The shirt fit as advertised and I wore it with and without a concealed vest. It maintained a professional appearance and having the pens on the sleeve and the mic loop built in were well thought out. My mic did tear the loop off while wearing and I would like to see that reinforced. For the time that I was wearing the shirt, it did appear to work as promised. I wore the shirt in early spring and I did appreciate the shirts breathability. The shirt held up to several washings and stilled look professional.
