I was asked to test and evaluate the Propper International Snag-Free Polo shirt, woman's fit. The product features are as follows: 100% Polyester. The manufacturer states that the fabric is a no-snag and no-pill performance fabric. With a fade, shrink, and wrinkle-resistant, anti-microbial capabilities. The manufacturer states the shirt would be good for on-duty or off-duty wear. The neckline does not have buttons like a traditional work shirt and I found that the collar of the shirt laid too flat against the fabric which made the neckline a bit awkward. It is almost as if the attempt to make the shirt appear on or off duty caused this unnatural neckline. The two-channel pen pocket on left shoulder does not really lend to a low profile appearance. This feature makes it look like a work shirt. I was however impressed with the overall durability. The color did not appear to change after several washings and the fabric did not snag under normal field use. I would recommend this polo shirt if you were looking for a non-traditional work shirt. I would probably not wear this shirt in an off-duty capacity.
At first glance there are a lot of fun and exciting details about the Propper CORE Snag-Free women's fit short sleeve shirt that makes it stand out over other shirts I currently own. First I love the fact that it has duel pen holders on the left sleeve. This makes for easy access for those who are right hand dominate. The holder fits any smooth shaped pen, not any of the thick shafted or jelly grip pens. There is a well- constructed tab at the center of the shirt, just under the V-neck that works well for securing radio microphones. The sides of the shirt consist of reinforced panels that seem to allow the shirt to couture more to a female body compared to the traditional seam of most tops. The material is soft and has a "moisture wicking" feel to it. It does not retain water like most cotton materials and dries faster than a cotton/ polyester blend. As far as its snag-free construction, it does not seem to catch on normal, everyday object that have sharp edges. The inside, on the other hand, will snag easily on sharp and rough surfaces. The inside seems to attract the rough side of Velcro while the outside doesn't. In regards to the fit, it runs small and the length could stand to be a bit longer. A small fits me well in the arms and chest (with no vest) but it barely meets the top of my pants. I would like to see the length increased by a few inches to allow females with longer torsos to still tuck in their shirts if they so desire. I personally would not purchase this shirt until the sizing issues were addressed, but I love the features it has and would stay on the lookout for ones in the future.
