Inspired by the Marine Corps Assault Back, the Propper® U.C. Pack keeps you prepared. It’s designed to be customized inside and out, allowing you to add the additional pouches and accessories you need when you’re on the move.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best This has quickly become the best backpack I have ever owned. I ordered all the custom interior and exterior accessories I needed and this pack is so functional! I take it everywhere I go. I added a holster and twin magazine holder to the interior for when I need to carry an extra firearm or store while the bag is with me. You can't go wrong with the quality and versatility of this pack. I initially had some issues with the discount code, but Propper did honor their promises.

I was recently given the opportunity to test the Propper UC Pack. When I first received this backpack, I was pretty excited, as I was currently in the market for a mid-sized pack to carry with me daily on patrol. The UC Pack was immediately put to task. My first impression was that it appeared to be very well made with good solid stitching and strong nylon material. The bag does look a little boxy for my taste, but that is just personal preference. After weeks with me on daily patrol, the bag has shown little to no wear. The generous main compartment has a "wide mouth" opening, allowing easy access to all of your gear. 360 degree Molle webbing on the exterior allows users to conveniently customize the pack with any Molle pouches or gear they want. All in all, I am very pleased with the quality of this pack. I do, however, have two main complaints. My first is the padding of the shoulder straps seems a bit too short. With the pack in a comfortable position, the padding seems to barely reach the bottom of my chest. My second complaint is that the pack has two convenient Velcro-covered access holes on either side of the carry handle, which would be ideal for feeding through a hydration bladder, however, there is no hook on the inside pouch to hang the bladder.

I received the Propper UC (User Configurable) Pack and the five inch by 10 inch window pouch, adjustable tool pouch and four inch by seven inch reversible pouch with the pack for review as well. The pack is available in black, coyote and olive. Its dimensions are 20" H x 13" W x 6.5" D. Propper's site lists the following features of the pack: exterior is wrapped in Molle webbing to accept user configurable pouches, interior is lined with soft-touch loop to accept any hook and loop accessories, padded adjustable shoulder straps and adjustable sternum strap, hook and loop pass through openings on the top for hydration or cable pass-through port, cinch straps on the bottom for securing gear, pockets on top and side for small items and isolated storage pocket on bottom. The exterior Molle attachments definitely make this user configurable. I have numerous pistol, rifle and general purpose pouches available from previous gear that allows me a multitude of options in setting up this pack. The included window pouch with Velcro back for interior mounting seems like it would lend itself to holding medical gear allowing for quick recognition. The tool pouch (Molle mount) is able to hold either a multi-tool, one double stack mag comfortably or two double stack mags snuggly. The reversible pouch (Molle and Velcro mount) to me is a general purpose pouch for interior or exterior mounting. The front flap and rear of the bag have interior zippers allowing for additional storage of thinner items and I found that a 10 x 12 plate approximately one inch thick will fit in the front and back flap and zip up with no issues. Propper offers several other pouches for interior and exterior mounting. Depending upon interior configuration, the pack will allow for storage of your essential "go-bag" items. This bag is sturdy and crafted well enough to support the weight of your gear and - within reason - not compromise quick access in a fight.

I put the UC (User Configurable) Pack from Propper through its paces. I was excited to test the pack because I'm a bag snob. I'm a SWAT operator, our agency's dive team leader and an avid hiker/hunter in the Rocky Mountain Range. Yes, I am hard on packs. This is a back pack style bag, that's 20" H x 13" W x 6.5" D. It's heavy duty nylon, covered in Molle, has adjustable straps, hook and loop areas for patches, a place for a hydration bladder and cable, many pockets and padded areas inside for electronics. It came to me with 3 Molle pouches that could be attached. This pack is customizable. I like the ability to add and subtract pouches to the Molle. There are even straps on the bottom for holding items such as a jacket or rain gear. The stitching appears to be high quality and so far has been surprisingly durable. The zippers are heavy duty and have a water resistant seam and overlay to protect from the elements. The zippers have a string tassel with a rubber casing. This was a good idea, but slipped off very easily. I replaced the useless tassel with a piece of paracord; problem solved. The shoulder, sternum and waist strap are nice; especially with heavy loads. Like most packs, the straps are way too long. I cut them shorter and singed the ends so I wouldn't look like an octopus. I loaded it with a 100 lbs. of gear. Mostly dive weights, sharpened pieces of PVC pipe and a towel. I did this to test the weight capacity, puncture ability and to find out if water got inside the bag. Then I ran the bag through several testing scenarios and environments. I let the bag roll around in the back of my duty vehicle for a week. It survived my driving habits and the heat very well. Every time I took it out of the back, I threw it forcefully on the ground. I set it on top of my light bar and drove off, causing it to roll down the back. At the range I used it as a rifle rest for my sniper rifle. Besides getting dirty, the pack held up very well. No holes were found and the stitching remained intact. I put bag on the bow of our dive boat and took it for a ride. The rectangular shape of the bag helped to keep it in place during a vigorous boat ride. After a tour on the boat, the bag was substantially wet on the outside. The towel inside was dry. I tied the pack off to a line and threw it in the lake at a depth of 30 feet. I waited 10 minutes before lifting the bag out of the water. Of course the towel inside was wet. The stitching still held up. I climbed a mountain peak wearing the pack. The weight was distributed evenly and the padding created a nice air flow between the pack and my back. The multitude of straps secured the bag nicely. When I reached the peak, I rolled the pack down a 300 feet rock slide. The pack rolled down fast with the 100 lbs. of weights inside. When it reached the bottom, it was extremely dirty and showed signs of wear. One pouch was torn from the Molle, but the rest of the stitching was intact. I thought surely my PVC "spikes" would puncture the pack, but I was wrong. Bottom line: it's an excellent pack for many uses, especially with an MSRP of $110.
