Protect your rifle with the long, padded Rifle Case. MOLLE webbing on the outside offers room for extra storage and accessories, and the large pouch can carry ear and eye protection or ammo.
Is the case waterproof? Can sling be attached so the carried in vertical position over shoulder?

With reviews from three different NTOA members, thePropper® 36" Rifle Case received their seal of approval garnering an overall score of 4.7 out of a possible 5 with its design, performance and durability praised across the board.
I received a Propper 36" rifle case for testing and evaluation. Propper is most known for their BDU-style uniforms but has added a line of tactical bags, cases and accessories. The case I received was OD green ballistic nylon but it also comes in black and coyote brown. The case features Molle webbing on the two 8" x 12" end pockets which allows the attachment of your choice of pouches or accessories. I attached a triple magazine shingle since there are no dedicated magazine pouches included on the case. A third pocket between the handle webbing allows for storage of smaller items. The pocket flap is covered in Velcro to attach patches or name tapes. A business card slot is provided on the back side of the case. The interior is padded without being bulky and is covered with orange-colored nylon which offers a contrast when trying to find dark-colored items. The interior has a Velcro strap attachment system which I used to keep a short barreled M4 from sliding around the case. Dual heavy-duty zippers and pulls can accommodate a small lock. An adjustable shoulder strap is included, however, it is attached toward the center of the case and is somewhat awkward to use. The stitching appears even and I noticed no loose threads. Overall, the case appears well-made and of good value for the MSRP of $79.99. Propper also offers a 44" model for $89.99.
I was sent the 36 inch Propper brand soft rifle case - black in color. This appeared to be a quality rifle case from the start and proved itself throughout the testing. The dimensions are 12.5" H x 36" W x 4" D. I appreciated the Molle compatible webbing on the exterior pockets for customization, but the exterior pockets are huge and can accommodate a great deal of kit without the add-ons. The case is fully padded and held up very well during abuse at the range with no concerns for contents during transport, including optics. Another feature that I found useful was the internal retention system - slotted corners and Velcro straps. The lighter contrasting color of the interior was also useful in low light and just in general for finding items that often make their way into an end user's rifle case. I found this to be an excellent case and would highly recommend it.
I recently tested the Propper 36 inch tactical rifle case. I used this gun case in conjunction with my Colt M4 Carbine which has a collapsible stock with a 16 inch barrel. Since this is the rifle I deploy on patrol and in SWAT, I have a lot of tactical equipment that needs to go with me: spare magazines, armorer's kit, cleaning equipment, extra batteries as well as other items. The Propper tactical rifle case came with three large storage compartments on the outer side of the case. The two outer end compartments are opened and closed with heavy-duty Velcro and each has a Molle attachment. The middle compartment is opened and closed with heavy-duty Velcro along with an adjustable buckle system. The opposite side has a name identification slot. The inside securely holds the weapon in place with two Velcro security straps and a slotted flap on each end to hold the butt stock and barrel in place. The case has a lot of protective padding and a heavy duty zipper with attached draw strings, allowing you to open and close the case with ease. It also has a removable shoulder strap and handheld carrying straps. The material is heavy canvas and stitched very well. The three outer storage compartments allow for generous space to hold all your gear and then some. You can easily place six spare magazines double stacked in each of the two outer storage compartments. I chose to use this space for extra gear and ordered two Molle triple magazine pouches and attached them to the Molle system on each of the outer end storage compartments. In my opinion, this product is well above my expectations and I am very pleased with it. Overall, I would rate the Propper Tactical Rifle Case as an excellent product for Patrol, SWAT or just the plain sports shooter.
