Summerweight Short Sleeve Shirt

Reviewer 1

I wore this shirt from Propper numerous times and will continue to wear it. I really put it through some tough tests. I wore the shirt over a black cotton t-shirt with temperatures in the 80s and high humidity just to see what would happen. I found that I was significantly cooler with the SS shirt on than I was when I took it off. I wore the shirt while working on my property in the woods. It did not rip or even fray, even with all that motion and stress. I have already recommended this shirt to dozens of people. It’s a great product in my view. The sizing seemed to be spot on for me as well. I have wide shoulders and a broad chest and the XL-sized shirt fit really well.

This shirt from Propper is made of a lightweight material and seems to be well put together. It is comfortable to wear even when in the heat. There are mesh vents woven into the shirt that help to release the heat from inside the shirt and allow some airflow inside to help keep you cool. It also has some useful pockets integrated throughout the shirt that would be handy for storage. The stitching appears to be well done and I think the shirt would hold up a long time, even with being used in a tactical environment. I would be interested to know if it comes in long sleeve for tactical deployments. I like wearing long sleeves, despite the heat sometimes, to help protect my arms against glass and other debris. Overall, it is a well-made shirt and professional enough to wear to work in everyday duties, especially during investigative call outs as a detective.

Overall, I was pleased with the shirt from Propper. The lightweight design kept me cool on the range in 90+ degree temperatures. In particular, I noted that despite soiling the shirt with dirt and grass stains (and a little gun oil), the shirt cleaned up nicely with one simple run through the washing machine. The quality and durability of the shirt was very good and I would recommend it to others.

I’ve never owned anything made by Propper before. The shirt came in a tan color. I didn’t have any good hot days to wear this to the range, so I wore it on the hottest days so far while I was mowing and doing yard work. The shirt is made well and pretty strong (I picked a spot and tried to rip it) and the fabric has a stretch to it. It’s a standard button up tan contractor-looking shirt with a large open mesh vent in the back for venting heat. It does what it’s supposed to do pretty well. I don’t know how cool it made me feel but it definitely dried out very quickly. It’s also supposed to provide UPF 50 (sunblock) protection... I didn’t know there was such a thing for clothes. I did my best to get gas, oil and dirt on the shirt while I was working in it. Most likely I would wear this to the range and I tried to duplicate shooting, sweating and getting gun cleaning fluids on the shirt. Everything washed out pretty well, even the grass stains I put on it. There are two pockets in the front of the shirt and a concealed hook and loop pocket on the left side, I’m not sure what you would put in there. Maybe it’s meant for a small back up gun? Otherwise it’s a well-made, durable shirt you can wear in hot weather or wet/sweaty environments. It dries out quickly and it looks nice enough for police/military business casual.

Summerweight Pant

Reviewer 1

I really put these pants from Propper to the test. I wore them in place of my khaki pants at events and they were very comfortable. I wore the pants while working on my property in the woods and there were no issues. They dry very quickly when compared to traditional tactical style pants. It seems to me that the sizing of the pants is just a touch small, but still very comfortable. I plan on wearing them until they fall apart! One negative is the pants are very prone to wrinkling. Keeping in mind these pants are summer weight... I am looking forward to trying them in the winter just to see how cold I get. All in all, a very good product and I strongly recommend them to anyone.

These are very nice summer weight tactical pants. The cut, size and material are all quite impressive. I gave the comfort rating of 4.1 only because there wasn’t much give in the material, but they were still extremely comfortable. I used these pants on the range and for hiking. The material breathes very well and sheds liquids nicely. Wearing these pants during hot and humid weather, they felt very comfortable, the material didn’t stick to the skin or block the breeze. The construction appears to be very durable. They have held up to a variety of physical tasks without any noticeable damage, fraying or separating of seams. This is a great pair of pants from Propper.

The label on the pants I received stated they were for a 34-inch waist, 32-inch inseam. That size normally fits me just fine in most brands. As soon as I put these on, my kid made a crack about skinny jeans. The thigh area was ridiculously tight. In the interest of a getting a complete review, I passed them on to a thinner teammate with the same waist size. He had the same problem and commented that they would never fit someone with normal quadriceps. We then tried a third candidate with an even smaller frame. Same result. They just weren’t wearable. They look like nice material with some good features, but if they can’t be worn, it’s moot.

A note from Propper on the fit: we are reviewing the fit of this style to ensure it continues to meet our size standards. Please note the Summerweight Pant is built to have an athletic profile with a rigid waistband (rather than an elastic or slider waistband like some of our other tactical pants).

The Summerweight Tactical Pant by Propper is a 94% nylon, 6% spandex pant that is extremely lightweight and flexible. There are just enough pockets to be useful, without being cluttered and the zippers and buttons are well-made and reliable. As the name implies, these pants are made for hot weather. The material feels similar to a pair of board shorts. Long term and hard use durability may suffer but comfort is top notch. The sizing seems to run a little bit tight and the material wrinkles easily, but for their intended purpose, these pants are well-made and comfortable. These pants would probably be best for detectives, foot patrols, community resources or casual wear.
