"Size guide said medium goes to 34 in waist. I have a 32 in waist and got them so I could wears jeans or silk pants underneath. Waist way to tight for that. Would be too uncomfortable for a long day."

I have a 38" waist, what is the best size for the overpants to be able to wear Jeans or a uniform pant with belt under these the XL, or is the L cut oversized to account for the layers underneath?
It’s an overpant, so it’s meant to be worn over a pair of pants. It will fit the wearer’s waist with elastic adjustability, and be oversized through the hip and leg. Here are some garment measurements on the overpant sizes Large & XL that may better help the you decide which size to order: Large has a relaxed waist of 38", extended waist of 40-1/4", and hip of 54-1/2". XLarge has a relaxed waist of 42", extended waist of 44-1/4", and hip of 58-1/2".
