A wildland firefighting shirt certified by the USDA Forest Service and UL to NFPA 1977 should provide a protective yet breathable fit for high-heat environments. It should be loose enough for airflow and mobility, with a longer back hem to stay tucked in and sleeves that allow full arm movement while maintaining coverage. Adjustable cuffs, a secure collar, and fire-resistant fabric ensure durability and protection against heat and embers.
