Good Field Jacket, Mostly M-65
This version of the M-65 field jacket was made in China, sports OD plastic YKK zippers (versus the brass originals) , and lacks the attachment points for the M-51 OG-107 Extreme Cold Weather Hood found on the original M-65. Other than that, it's a good, heavy field jacket that seems to be well made & well sewn. It's comfortable and true to the military sizing for this coat -- a bit bulky and loose-fitting. Color is an olive green, not really OD, but it's not bad looking. It's mostly true to the old M-65 design, but differs in these details--not an exact reproduction of the original, but still a good jacket.

A Very Good Replica
I have 2 original 1980's US Army BDU M-65s in Large Long that I wear at the ranch. I bought this one in black to wear in public. I purchased the XL L (I'm 6'5") because it is has the extra liner included which increases the overall bulk and fit of the jacket. It is the same sizing as the original (runs larger as the military intended). The outside material is a little different (lower quality) and the internal lining is not rip stop as the original. Plastic zipper instead of original brass, but of good quality. It lacks the button slots on the collar, but are unnecessary unless you have an original military winter hood. For the pricing compared to others, this was a good choice.

Really Warm
Really warm coat, especially with the liner! Starting to wish I had pants able to match up to their warmth for the nether regions. Extremely durable and well-sewn, haven't even washed it out of the box and it still smells quite nice. The only problem I have with it is fit, because I'm a short, yet wide guy! I have to really cinch the adjustment waist straps so I don't have the hem of the coat touching my knees (I should be getting a small for height, but I have a medium build) I love Propper clothing but it would be nice to have more sizing options for those of shorter, stouter stature.

Outstanding Jacket
This jacket is worth every penny.
Outstanding quality at a reasonable price.
I live in South Africa, my uncle brought it for me, this jacket is plenty warm even for the Bushveld during winter.
Have been wearing the jacket for 4 days now and so far so good.
Not even strong winds get through this jacket, we have our winter over May to August.
I own SADF M65 jacket, a variety of Parkas and nothing comes close to this jacket
Fits according to the size chart of Propper. I just took measurement and the jacket fits like a glove.
Will definitively be buying the Olive green in the near future.

Great version of the classic coat!
I have two of these coats now one made by another company (no longer in business) and this one by Propper. This one is by far the better of the two and has the classic M*A*S*H* look (plain olive drab) to boot. The material is listed as a 50/50 blend but it feels more like cotton (a good thing). Sizing (fit) is spot on but unless you are really tall (as in 6’4”+) stick with the regular length (I’m 6’1” and the tall is a bit long, but not unmanageable as I just roll the arm cuffs up).
Coat is quite a bargain as it comes with the liner. With the liner in I didn’t mind wearing it outside during the recent unexpected winter blast, it was comfortably warm and would have been so even 15 degrees colder.

Good coat but inconsistent quality
It is a good coat. I have it in olive drab. The quality is good except for the buttons. Almost all of the buttons fell off the coat. They were not sewed to the coat properly so they all fell off. I had to buy replacements and sew them back on myself properly. Not acceptable.
If the rest of the coat wasn't so nice I would not be so generous with my score.

Exactly what I needed.
Love the jacket. Only one complaint. Two buttons have come off. One epulet button and one inner-liner button. Coat not abused, only wear to and from work. Office job. I just expect buttons not to come off after a couple of weeks use.

Very happy to be wearing an M65 in woodland again
Awesome field coat for the price. It doesn't quite have all the features that the original M-65 had, but it's close enough for it to still be a great Field jacket. The quality of materials and workmanship are good The 4XL fits a guy 6'6", 280 lbs with some room to layer. Sleeve length good, torso length, good. Plenty of room to stretch the arms and not strangle yourself. I'm thrilled to find this in woodland and big enough to fit me. Very happy with this purchase.

Is this jacket made in the USA? If not, is it possible to purchase a M65 made in the USA?
Us made M-65 at Cockpit USA.... expensive though, about $350.00 ... looks to be the real deal !

How much do these coats shrink? I recently received a Large Regular and it's a bit bulky on me (6'2, 200 lbs.). Considering sending it in to exchange for a Medium before I run it through the wash.
I doubt it will shrink all that much because of the polyester content in the blend, but I don't own it so I'm not sure of that. I'm 6'2" 225 lbs. Do you think the large would be the right size or was yours REALLY roomy?

What is the material of the outer shell - 50% nylon / 50% cotton, or a polyester/cotton blend?
The outer shell is 50% nylon / 50% cotton.

I've got a 45 inches chest, hence in between L and XL which should I choose?
I'm 73. 2". Regular or long? Regards Erik
I purchased an M 65 in large and it is huge on me. I’m 5’7” and about 175. Would a medium be better, particularly in the length? This was way too long.
