Propper International is currently seeking an experienced Product Merchandiser to join the Research & Development team located at our corporate headquarters in St. Charles, MO (a suburb of St. Louis).  We are looking for someone who will assist the Vice President of Merchandising in setting the strategic direction, developing and coordinating all design and development activities to support timely product innovation, product availability and achievement of profit goals for assigned product category.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development process to bring new products and improve existing products within category to market
  • Propose potential new product offerings and categories
  • Source materials and vendors
  • Seek input from Sales Team
  • Track new product development timelines to ensure timely launch
  • Assist with product and packaging specifications
  • Assist with pricing recommendations and sales report analysis
  • Maintain awareness of retail marketplace
  • Support Vice President as requested
  • Analyze the market to determine direction of product line, brand share and market trends
  • Maintain a continuous analysis of the competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and leadership regarding new product ideas
  • Work closely with Marketing, Leadership, and Sales to proactively market product

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree in design or business management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years consumer product design / development experience
  • Possess excellent design, analytical and planning skills
  • Exhibit well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
  • Exhibit problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
